Planning for the Future
The Comprehensive Integrated Resource Management Plan 2012The Integrated Resource Management Plan

The Round Valley Indian Tribes have adopted a long range, comprehensive plan to manage the Tribes' natural and cultural resources, develop an economic development strategy and expand housing, social services and facilities. The web pages in this section of the Tribes' website present the goals and objectives that are the result of a multi-year planning effort that included the development of a resource inventory Existing Resource Conditions and Issues, the 2007 Tribal Community Survey, as well as focus groups and management workshops conducted in 2008.

During the course of developing the Comprehensive Integrated Resource Management Plan (IRMP), planning issues for each of the Tribes’ natural, cultural and human resources were indentified. The goals and objectives presented here represent a strategy to address the planning issues in an integrated and consistent manner. They represent the combined contributions of the tribal government, tribal managers, employees and the tribal community at large in identifying viable and preferred goals and objectives to bring about a sustainable and thriving community. In addition, as part of the planning process, a Programmatic Environmental Assessment was prepared to assess the environmental consequences of implementing the plan.

Some Definitions:

Vision Statement - The desired values and characteristics of the future reservation and community.
Goals - The long-term intended result for the quality, use and protection of tribal resources. Objectives - Strategic programs and activities that will bring about the long-term resource goals.

Planning Resources and Participants

The planning goals and objectives that constitute the Comprehensive Integrated Resource Management Plan were developed to reflect the knowledge gained from technical studies, existing plans, laws and the desires of the tribal community and government.
