Protect and preserve the traditional cultural resources, values and practices of the Round Valley Indian Tribes.
Cultural Resource Objectives
Establish a Cultural Preservation Department.
Apply for Historic Preservation Fund grants available through the National Park Service.
Develop and implement a long-range Cultural Resource Preservation Plan.
Develop the capabilities to apply for status as a Tribal Historic Preservation Office.
Provide cultural resource impact assessment for projects on tribal lands.
Maintain and expand the Tribes’ cultural resource database.
Protect sensitive cultural sites.
Assert right-of-way access to landlocked lands and along traditional trails.
Designate land for recreation and cultural activities such as swimming, hiking, acorn gathering, plant and basket material gathering and berry picking.
Develop a language preservation program via grant funding programs.
Promote an understanding of the relationship between tribal culture and environmental health.
Promote cultural activities.
Promote sustainable hunting and fishing practices.
Establish a Tribal Cultural Center and Museum.
